Premier Zamani Saul to Address the Public Service Commission's Plenary

The Public Service Commission will hold its quarterly Plenary meeting from 13 – 15 March 2023 at the Protea Hotel in Kimberly. The Northern Cape Premier, Dr Zamani Saul and the Speaker of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature, Ms Newrene Klaaste have been invited to address the Plenary. To this end, the Premier will deliver his address on Monday, 13 March 2023 at 09:00 whilst the Speaker will address the Plenary on Tuesday, 14 March 2023 at 09:00.

The PSC Plenary, led by the Commission’s Chairperson, Prof Somadoda Fikeni is the highest decision- making body of the PSC and will over a three-day period, reflect on the work that the Commission has done during the 3rd quarter of the 2022/2023 Financial Year.

The spotlight on the Public Administration matters will include amongst others, the implementation of the National Framework for Professionalization of the Public Sector; Organizational Performance and the Commission’s Flagship projects.

The Plenary takes place at the backdrop of President Ramaphosa’s announcement that a legislation is underway to strengthen the role of the Commission in a bid to achieve a single and harmonized public service.

PREMIER ZAMANI SAUL TO ANNOUNCE THE MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, will formally announce the Members of the Executive Council (MECs) for the Seventh Administration tomorrow, 27 June 2024. This announcement follows Premier Saul’s democratic election and swearing-in as the seventh Premier of the Northern Cape at the House Sitting held on 14th June 2024, which was followed by his inaugural address on 25th June 2024.

The announcement of the MECs will be followed by a swearing-in ceremony next week, that will be presided over by the Judge President of the Northern Cape Division of the High Court.

Premier Zamani Saul to Launch Northern Cape Contruction Company

The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, will officially launch the Northern Cape Construction Company on Monday, 1 August 2022.

The main purpose of the Northern Cape Construction Company is to enable equitable access for construction SMME’s to medium and large scale construction projects.

This newly established Construction Company will see the project commencing under the auspices of the Northern Cape Economic Development Agency (NCEDA) and will advance into a fully functional and resourced company to enhance opportunities for Construction SMME’s in the Northern Cape.

Premier Saul will be joined by Members of the Executive, Local Government leadership, business and various SETAs within the construction industry.

The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr. Zamani Saul, will deliver his Inaugural Address tomorrow, 25 June 2024 at the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature in Kimberley.

The Inaugural Address; follows the first House Sitting of the Provincial Legislature on 14 June 2024, where Dr Saul was sworn in as the seventh democratically elected Premier of the Northern Cape. 

In his Inaugural Address, Premier Saul will outline his vision and plans for this Seventh Administration. The Inaugural Address is scheduled to take place as follows:

Premier Zamani Saul to Lead Provincial Inter-Faith Summit

The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, will lead a two day Provincial Inter-Faith Summit scheduled to take place 11-12 August 2022 in Upington. The Summit in the main is aimed at consulting with faith-based leaders on their role in combatting TB, HIV and Sexually Transmitted infections in our communities in order to develop long-term and impactful resolutions.

The Summit is also a response to the call for collaboration made by the Deputy President of the country, Mr David Mabuza, to the Religious Sector earlier this year, as part of the National World TB Day commemoration that was held in Barkley West, near Kimberley in the Northern Cape.

Collaborating with the Northern Cape Provincial Government on this important initiative will be the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC), the Inter-Faith Community and the Moral Regeneration Movement in the Province.

In attendance will be 200 constituency-based representatives from the different faith movements that are active in the Province.
