Day 2 of the Northern Cape Outbound mission saw the Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul accompanied by the delegation from the Northern Cape, visiting the Singapore FHA Food and Beverage Expo, and also holding fruitful engagements with Mr Alvin Tan,  the Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore as well as Dynasty Travel, an equivalent to the Northern Cape Tourism in the Province.

Participation in the Expo and the engagements were aimed at strengthening trade relations between the two countries and to afford SMMEs an opportunity to showcase their products to the international market and to provide a glimpse into the potential South Africa holds as an exporter of food and beverages. Products featured ranged from Rooibos Tea, table grapes, wines, raisins and pecan nuts which are on high in demand in the Asian market. Prospective collaborative efforts between Dynasty Travel and the Northern Cape Tourism Authority were identified.

The delegation also had an impactful and progressive engagement with Mr Alvin Tan. Invites to salient engagements going forward was agreed to with Premier Saul.

All together the visit was productive and progressive and this was echoed by High Commissioner of South Africa to Singapore, Her Excellency  Madiepetsane Charlotte Lobe.  This coincides with the focus of the mission to promoting the Northern Cape as their priority for the year 2023.
