The construction, official handover and opening of the new clinic have been made possible by the John Taolo Gaetsewe Development Trust. As the provincial government, we would like to extend our greatest appreciation for the Trust’s contribution and we value their efforts in contributing to improving the lives of the people in Madibeng

The common health conditions of hypertension, TB & HIV and Chronic Diseases are experienced by the communities. The challenge of immunization coverage and substance abuse are prominent in the area.

The clinic was constructed at a cost of R6,970,870.61. Medical Equipment at the cost of R326,200 and Nurses House Furniture at the cost of R13,000 were also procured. The total number of community members employed in the project was 32, 23 males and 9 females.

The community will experience the following benefits from the new clinic namely improved access to health care services and quality of life, reduction in maternal and infant mortality, decrease in TB incidence rate, decrease in HIV new infection rate, decrease in deaths and disabilities caused by chronic diseases, improved maternal and child health

The following services will be rendered at the clinic: Comprehensive PHC package of Care (Chronic Care, TB Management, HCT, Reproductive Health services- Family planning and Cervical Screening, Health Education), Maternity services (Antenatal Care, Deliveries and Post Natal Care) ,Emergency Medical Services (Madibeng planned Satellite EMS Station),One Professional nurse and an Assistant Nurse will be on site from date of opening until full complement of staff is appointed.

The clinic will operate for 8hrs 5 days a week.

Regarding community participation, a Clinic Committee will be established with the assistance of the Ward Councilor and the Traditional Leadership. A Suggestion Box will be placed in the clinic for use by the community to raise concerns as well a come up with suggestions of service improvement..The communities will take full ownership of the clinic and assist by keeping it clean and free form vandalism.

The success of the project would not have been possible without the partners namely the Northern Cape Provincial Department of Health, John Taolo Gaetsewe District Development Trust, the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality and Joe Morolong Local Municipality. This is a true reflection that working together, we can do more.
