The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, is deeply saddened and disturbed by the news of the brutal and senseless murder of 11 year-old Relebogile Segami, whose body was discovered last week behind the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature.

The Premier calls on communities to work with Government in order to completely stop these barbaric individuals that thrive on the vulnerability of our women and children. Dr Saul welcomes the arrest of a suspect and calls on the community to practice restraint and to allow law enforcement to continue with the investigation.  The Premier has full confidence that the matter will be dealt with in the appropriate manner and with the urgency it requires.

He will be accompanied by the MEC’s for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Ms Nomandla Bloem and Social Development, Ms Topsy Vilakazi as well as senior SAPS officials.
