The delivery of a 33km pipeline to replace the bulk pipeline from the Riverton Water Treatment Plant to the Newton Reservoir is a key milestone.
Given that the last upgrade to the plant was over 50 years ago, this project will significantly enhance the municipality’s water infrastructure.
In addition to addressing water supply challenges, the project will generate over 1000 jobs and create valuable opportunities for local small and medium enterprises (SMMEs), contributing to the local economy.
This investment in the Northern Cape is a testament to the provincial government's commitment to improving essential services and creating sustainable growth in the region.
The positive impact on both water security and economic development will be marked by this project.
