Premier Visiting Greenpoint High School and Sol-Plaatje High School in the Sol-Plaatje Municipality.Schools in the Northern Cape reconvene today after the two month closure, due to the global   Coronavirus outbreak. As a result of the spike in Coronavirus cases in the Umsobomvu and Renosterberg Municipalities, 19 schools in the areas were not opened today. The Council will closlely monitor the situation in those areas and make an assessment before schools are reopened, with the closure of those schools, only 543 schools were re-opened today.

The Premier, Dr Zamani Saul led School visits across the Province by the command council with the objective of ensuring that learners arrive to secure schools that comply with the set regulations for Covid-19.

We are once again appealing to learners and educators to comply with the COVID-19 safety protocols. Maintaining social distancing, washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and water or using hand sanitiser and always wearing a cloth mask.
