Let us all honour our mothers on Mother’s Day, (13 May 2012) and every day and hope that they will spend quality time with their families. Our Mothers are a shining example of dedication, diligence, fortitude, service and compassion.

We also express our sincere gratitude to all our mothers for their love and commitment to the development of their children, noting that the Day provides us all with an opportunity to thank our mothers for their selflessness and sacrifices. Mothers Day is the best time to say in words and deed how much we love and care for our mothers.

The Provincial Government also takes this opportunity to assure the women of the Northern Cape Province and the entire country of our commitment to helping improve the quality of life of all women through the implementation of tangible women empowerment programmes.

We also urge especially working mothers not to abandon their long cherished role of providing care for the family at all times despite the challenges that today confront career women.

May our Lord continue to protect and bless our mothers and their families with health and happiness.
